08/25/23 Plant-Based Milk Also Conquering Croatia
On the occasion of the World Plant Milk Day Animal Friends Croatia invite to the Veggie challenge and gifting a barista
- In Croatia plant-based milk is popping out of vegan pate and the Croatian producers are expanding their production
With their campaign symbolically named „Looking for a Queen”, with which they aim to pass on the information to the consumers of the sad truth about the dairy industry, Animal Friends Croatia recently pointed out that the production of plan-based milk is the only royal treatment of cows. They confirm that also with a present announcement for all to register for the Veggie Challenge at www.veganopolis.net from August 22nd to September 1st and 2nd, when they will be able at the ZeGeVege Festival to take over their one-liter plant-based milk „Not Milk” and „Barista”. The action is symbolically started on the World Plant Milk Day that is celebrated world-wide on the August 22nd with a goal to point out the advantages of the plant-based dairy products for the environment, personal health and the wellbeing of animals.
„In Croatia many already know of plant-based milk – we can say they are popping out of vegan pate”, Animal Friends Croatia joke. They are satisfied that on the Croatian market up to 50 types of plant-based milk are available – from various cereals, legumes and various nuts (such as soya, almond, oat, rise, coconut, hazelnut, spelt nut) but also of various flavors (chocolate or with vanilla and use. More and more available is so called barista plant-based milk for coffee. Especially popular is oat milk with various percentages of fat that has the flavor identical to cow milk, and the participants of the Veggie Challenge will be receiving it as a gift.
„Milk lovers” are also happy about the Croatian producers’ offer: „We encourage the domestic dairy industry to produce plant-based milk and dairy products that are tasty and good for all. People who have eliminated milk and dairy products from their diet have more energy, better digestion, lessened feeling of being bloated, cleaner skin and alleviated symptoms of asthma and sinus infection. Production of plant-based milk also means lower emission of glasshouse gases, lower water usage and less water and soil contamination as compared to the production of cow milk. We believe that the domestic companies will even more expand the production of plant-based milk, cream, whip cream, cheese, ice-cream and other dairy products”, they say from the Association.
They point out the fact that the use of plant-based dairy products is one of the most important steps an individual can take to reduce their ecological print and prevent the cruelty towards cows and calves: „Cows are animals whose body is most intensively exploited for human diet, and male calves, as unwanted by-product of this industry end up as veal. Cow milk is not intended for human consumption but for the calves and human milk is intended for human children. Regardless of that, people even in adulthood drink the milk of other species, which is unnatural and unnecessary and lastly also harmful.”
They add that the advantages of plant-based milk are that all who are used to dairy products can find tasty substitutions and with that also improve their health, reduce the carbon print and stop the suffering of animals. They invite all to celebrate the World Plant Milk Day at home, in their favorite coffee shop that has plant-based milk in their offer or in an ice-cream parlor with offers of desserts from plant-based milk.
Various plant-based milk as well as cheese, yogurt and ice-cream all will be able to taste also at the 15th ZeGeVege Festival that will be held on September 1st and 2nd, 2023 at the European Square in Zagreb.
